A Rockport woman died Sunday when the motorcycle she was riding on collided with a car on Route 17, according to the Knox County sheriff’s office.

Felicity Davidson, 63, of Rockport was a passenger on a 1968 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Ronald Moon, 64, of Waldoboro. The motorcycle was traveling east on Heald Highway (Route 17) when it struck the back of an Audi SUV driven by Chaturvedi Alok, 57, of New Delhi, India.

Alok was pulling onto Heald Highway from Town House Road around 5 p.m., and apparently didn’t see the motorcycle after it crested a hill, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Davidson, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene, according to deputies.

Moon suffered broken bones in the crash and was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport for treatment. Alok and passengers in the Audi weren’t injured.

Police say neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
