The National Weather Service has issued a warning about a strong thunderstorm over southeastern Aroostook County that is expected to produce winds as fast as 60 mph and that could bring quarter size hail.

Towns expected to be affected by the storm Bridgewater, Mars Hill, Bridgewater, Monticello, Blaine, Westfield and Number Nine Mountain, weather service forecasters said in a special weather statement issued shortly before 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible, forecasters said, adding that high winds could result in damage to trees and power lines.
