By Dawn Gagnon, BDN Staff

HOLDEN, Maine — An Orland man died late Thursday afternoon when the car he was driving apparently drifted across the centerline and traveled into the path of a tractor-trailer on Route 1A, according to police.

Killed in the crash was Derick Warren, 30, Holden Police Chief Chris Greeley said early Thursday evening.

The tractor-trailer driver, whose name was not immediately available but who Greeley said is not from Maine, was not injured. Also uninjured was the driver of a second car that grazed the back end of the tractor-trailer.

The crash happened at about 4:45 p.m. in front of Maine Military Supply.

Route 1A was shut down until about 8 p.m. as a result of the collision, Greeley said.
