Train hits vehicle stuck on the tracks in Old Orchard Beach

A vehicle was struck by a train on Wednesday in Old Orchard Beach.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine — Police confirmed that a vehicle, stuck on the tracks, was hit by a train on Wednesday on Union Avenue in Old Orchard Beach.

According to a witness, the vehicle pulled out of a driveway and the throttle malfunctioned. The driver jumped out of the vehicle, and it rolled onto the tracks.

Police said the driver suffered only minor injuries.
