Police continue search for stolen handgun after charging teen with firearm theft

Investigators from the Maine State Police and Berwick Police Department are looking for a Kimber Custom Crimson Carry II .45-caliber handgun (similar to the one pictured) that was stolen from a house in Lebanon on Aug. 12. A 15-year-old from Berwick has been arrested in connection with the theft, but the firearm still is missing.

LEBANON, Maine — A teenager from Berwick was arrested Thursday in connection with a handgun theft, but the firearm still has not been recovered, according to the Maine State Police.

The state police received on Aug. 12 a report that a Kimber Custom Crimson Carry 11 .45-caliber handgun with a laser was stolen from a house in Lebanon, the state police said in a Facebook post Friday.

Investigators from the state police and the Berwick Police Department coordinated with the investigation, and they arrested on Aug. 18 a 15-year-old from Berwick.

The teen was charged with theft of a firearm and transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.

Anyone with information about the location of the stolen handgun can contact Trooper John Darcy of the state police at 657-3030 or Detective Ron Lund of the Berwick police at 698-1136. People can remain anonymous if they wish.
