The University of Maine men’s hockey team has played two Frozen Fenway games, and the Black Bears have won both at the home field of the Boston Red Sox.

They will try to make it three straight this coming season.

The Black Bears will be one of eight Hockey East teams involved in doubleheaders over a pair of Saturdays in January. Times and dates have yet to be announced.

The other teams involved will be Boston College, Boston University, Providence, University of Massachusetts, University of Connecticut, the University of New Hampshire and Northeastern.

Maine beat Boston University 7-3 on Jan. 11 2014, as Devin Shore, Ben Hutton and Ryan Lomberg each had a pair of goals.

There were four players who played in that game who will be seniors this season: Cam Brown, Brady Campbell, Brian Morgan and Eric Schurhamer.

Brown had a pair of assists against BU.

The Black Bears topped archrival New Hampshire 5-4 in their first Frozen Fenway as Brian Flynn scored the game-winner 1:29 into overtime on Jan. 7, 2012.
