Bangor police investigating robbery of laundromat

Bangor police are investigating the robbery of the Gold Star Cleaner's on Wednesday.

BANGOR, Maine — City police are investigating a robbery at the Gold Star Cleaners at the corner of Third and Union streets.

The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to a posting on the Bangor Police Department’s Facebook page.

The robber, a white man standing 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build, threatened a clerk as though he had a gun, but it is unknown whether he had a weapon, according to the post.

Police also did not disclose whether the suspect got away with any cash.

The man is believed to be over 50 years of age and was wearing a dark outer jacket with a dark black hooded sweatshirt underneath. He also was wearing a black knit hat and had a gray goatee.

The robber was believed to have last been seen walking in the area of Third and Union streets.
