Childs holds on to win Outlaw Mini Madness at Wiscasset Speedway

WISCASSET, Maine — Jimmy Childs of Leeds started near the back of the pack, but he finally was able overcome Rob Greenleaf of West Bath and Toby Wells of Dublin, New Hampshire, to take the checkered flag in the 75-lap Outlaw Mini Madness feature at Wiscasset Speedway on Saturday night.

A total of 15 cars, including one from Florida, battled it out through a race that included four cautions. Childs was able to grab the lead after a yellow flag on Lap 37.

Wells came back to grab the top spot briefly on Lap 43 before he and Childs got together and Wells slid down the track, allowing Childs to get back in front with Emerson Cayer of Contookook, New Hampshire, in second.

Childs was later able to hold off Wells and Greenleaf to claim the win. Cayer was fourth, followed by Bryan Lancaster of Skowhegan, Dixon Smith of Sidney, Brady Romano of Livermore Falls, Mike Bolduc of Palermo, Cody Tribbet of Richmond and Jay’s Shane Kaherl, who rounded out the top 10.
