Sidney Bruce Faulkner

DANFORTH – Sidney Bruce Faulkner, 90, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2015 just after testifying about the miracles he had witnessed in his life during the morning service at the Danforth Pentecostal Church. His last words were “Praise for the goodness of God.” Sidney was born May 23, 1925 in Weston, ME the son of Elmer Alvah and Florence Inglis Faulkner.
He lived in Weston for the entirety of his ninety years. He grew up on a farm milking cows, raising turkeys and growing potatoes. He graduated from Danforth High School in 1943 and married the love of his life three years later. He was a partner of Faulkner Brothers, Inc. and worked many years in Southern Aroostook, Northern Penobscot and Washington County operating heavy equipment on road construction projects in the summer and cutting pulp in the winter. He loved being outdoors and was appreciative and knowledgeable about the forests that surrounded his home. Sidney served as a school board member from MSAD 14 for several years and was a treasurer and deacon at the Danforth Pentecostal Church for more than 30 years. Sidney loved sharing stories and his love for and interest in people was evidenced everywhere he went. Family gatherings and celebrations brought him great joy. He truly enjoyed having his family around him, and “Bampa” was more like a father than a grandfather.
Sidney is survived by his wife of 69 years, Charlene Noyes Faulkner; his identical twin, brother and best friend, Elmer Alvah Faulkner and his wife, Mildred; a daughter, Reta and husband John Ribe; grandchildren: Garrett and Linette Cowger, Patrick and Ruth Ann Cowger, Mariam and Patrick Foss and Michael and Angela Cowger. He is predeceased by his parents and a sister, Margaret Faulkner Irish and her husband Delmar.

A fellowship gathering will follow the service at the Robert McKinnon Memorial Building. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Danforth Pentecostal Church, Danforth, ME 04424.
