BURBANK, Calif. — A U.S. marshal from Standish, Maine was arrested in California last month after allegedly brandishing a handgun at another man, police said.

Andrew Leconte, 27, is accused of kidnapping and brandishing a firearm, according to Burbank police Lt. Eddie Ruiz.

At 12:30 a.m. Aug. 27, Burbank officers were dispatched to a report of a man brandishing a firearm.

Ruiz said the victim, who was working on his car and was not wanted for any crime, was ordered to follow Leconte at gunpoint. The lieutenant said Leconte was very intoxicated.

After following Leconte for a short distance, the victim fled the scene, Ruiz said.

Leconte was taken into custody shortly before 1 a.m. Ruiz said Burbank police are investigating the matter.
