By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

AUGUSTA, Maine — A man police believe is responsible for a pair of Rite Aid robberies in Augusta has been arrested, police said.

Dominic Pomerleau, 21, was taken into custody early Wednesday morning, according to Augusta Deputy Chief Jared Mills.

The FBI assisted Augusta police in locating Pomerleau, according to Mills.

Pomerleau is being held on a probation hold while the investigation into both robberies concludes, according to Mills.

“Once the investigation is complete, we anticipate that Mr. Pomerleau will be formally charged with both robberies,” Mills said.

The robberies occurred about 15 minutes apart.
