BELMONT AND STOCKTON SPRINGS – Freda Barbara (Dunham) (Bradstreet) Flye, 92, went home to her God; whom she says raised her, on Saturday August 30, 2014. She was born June 28, 1922 in Stockton Springs, the daughter of Alvah and Junita (Page) Dunham.
She enjoyed knitting, cooking, painting rocks for her rock garden, which people thought were flowers.
She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, Donald “Dippy” Bradstreet in 1977, her second husband, Ray Flye of Freedom in 2003, her siblings, Edna Hamilton, Mariba Beard, Emerald Lampheir, Velma Dunham, Clyde, Leman, Merland, Erwin and Reginald Dunham, a special nephew, Berly Dunham whom call her “Peep”, an infant great-great-granddaughter, Mikaela Oxton, August 2014, two sons-in-law, Herbert Oxton Sr. and Donald Koehler. She is survived by two daughters, Judith A. Oxton and Sandra F. Koehler, grandchildren, Wendy (Oxton) Chaston and husband, Roy, Herbert Oxton Jr and wife, Lucy, Penny D. Oxton, Tammy Bragdon, Lisa Carroll and husband, Chris, Scott Bragdon and companion, Carol Carver, great-grandchildren, Darren Ward, Benjamin Chaston and wife, Tiffany, Andrea Chaston, Jonathan Oxton and companion, Eileen Roberts, Aaron Oxton, Shane Oxton, Alex Carver, Kaylee Bragdon and Jayden Bragdon, and one niece, Andrea Dunphy. She will be missed by family and good friends, Margaret and Clarence Nickerson. Special thanks to the CNA’s and staff at Harbor Hill and her favorite M.D., Dr. David Thanhauser for all his years of care.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014 at Young Funeral Home, 31 W. Main St., Searsport. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014 at Mount Prospect Cemetery Church St., Stockton Springs, with Pastor Elizabeth Bailey-Mitchell officiating.
