BANGOR – Theresa L. Phillips, 86, passed away peacefully August 28, 2014, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 16, 1928, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, the daughter of Joseph A. and Madeleine (Martin) Lagasse.
Theresa was a former employee of Cyrs Dress Shop in Madawaska and also worked for the Ammex Tax and Duty Free Store for many years. She very much enjoyed traveling, going on six ocean cruises and visiting forty-seven different states. For over 25 years she and her husband lived in Okeechobee, Florida, where they made many close friends and had great memories of square dancing throughout the state. Theresa was a very accomplished craftswoman, especially in knitting, macramé, and crocheting. She also loved to play many varieties of card games with friends and family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Bertrand Phillips of Bangor, four stepchildren, three grandchildren, and a sister, Margaret Bellefleur of Edmundston, New Brunswick.
Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Gifts in Theresa’s memory may be made to a charity of choice. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor.
