PITTSFIELD – Rosalie M. Lovejoy, 82, of Pittsfield, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born Sept. 29, 1931, in Addison, Maine, the daughter of James L. Guptill and May (Grant) Guptill.
Rosalie married Harold A Lovejoy in December of 1946. Rosalie spent many years hand sewing shoes for various local shoe companies. And she also spent many years as a wife and mother. She enjoyed going to yard sales, doing crossword puzzles and putting puzzles together. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Rosalie loved her family; they were her world always wanting to know what everyone was up to.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Sr., of 67 years of Pittsfield, her son, Harold Lovejoy Jr and his wife, Darlene of Pittsfield, her five grandchildren, Roni Twitchell and her partner, Warren LaPrell of Palmyra, Kim Kirouac and her husband, Jason of Pittsfield, Troy Twitchell and his wife, Missy of Hartland, Amy Twitchell and her partner, Mike Richardson of Windsor, Kevin McCormick and his wife, Joanna of St. Albans, her great-grandchildren, Trevor Twitchell, Morgan Havey, Danielle Brunni, Christina May, Ryan-Michael Havey, Nash Kirouc, and Ellura Twitchell, and her great-great-granddaughter, Kylie Twitchell. She also leaves her brothers, Elliott Guptill and his wife, Eileen and Larry Guptill and his wife, Carol. She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter, Beatrice and son-in-law, James Twitchell, her granddaughter, Keri Lovejoy, and her two sisters, Gloria and Frances and a brother, Robert.
A private graveside will be held at the family’s convenience. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
