Bangor man charged with alleged possession of child pornography, sexual touching

BANGOR, Maine — A local man is facing multiple charges after his arrest Friday on sex charges, police said.

Roger Severance, 42, is facing a charge of possession of sexually explicit material, a Class C felony, and unlawful sexual touching of a child under the age of 14, a Class D misdemeanor, Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton said.

Severance was arrested after a monthlong investigation that began in July, according to Cotton.

Bangor detectives had been referred to Severance’s alleged wrongdoings by the Maine Computer Crimes Task Force.

Severance is being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
