Maine Warden Service officials recover marker bouts below the fall on the Presumpscot River in Westbrook on Thursday after finding the body of a man.

WESTBROOK, Maine — Police on Tuesday identified the victim of a Thursday drowning in the Presumpscot River as 35-year-old Christopher Jehlicka of Westbrook.

Shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday, searchers found Jehlicka’s body a short distance downstream from the Saccarappa Falls.

Jehlicka apparently fell into the river about four hours earlier and was swept over the falls, police said at the time.

Dive teams, local firefighters, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and a plane from the Maine Warden Service participated in the search.

No additional information was available Tuesday, pending a report from the state medical examiner, according to Westbrook police Capt. Mike Nugent.
