SOUTH THOMASTON, Maine — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two home burglaries over the weekend.

The complaints came in shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sunday for residences on Drury Lane, which is located off Route 131 and goes to the St. George River.

Two sleeping bags, a headlamp and three L.L. Bean shirts were reported stolen from one of the residences that was being rented by a couple from Connecticut, Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison said. There appeared to be nothing taken from the second nearby residence, she said.

While not releasing any additional information on how the person or people entered the homes, she said force was used in both instances.

She said the suspect or suspects appeared to have come up from nearby clam flats.
