Camden man charged in connection with business burglary

CAMDEN, Maine — A 34-year-old Camden man is behind bars after being arrested in connection with a business break-in two weeks ago.

Robert Beerman was arrested and charged with burglary on Saturday morning by Camden police Officer Brook Hartshorn. The break-in occurred about 3:30 a.m. Aug. 16 at Cuzzy’s Restaurant on Bay View Street, the officer said.

Entry was made through a window, she noted.

The officer reviewed a video from the surveillance camera at the restaurant and recognized Beerman.

Hartshorn interviewed Beerman and that led to the charge, she said. He was taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland after his arrest Saturday.

Most of the money taken was recovered, Hartshorn said. She declined to say how much had been stolen.
