PORTLAND, Maine — A pizza chain with locations in Maine and Massachusetts has learned of a data breach that potentially exposed customers’ debit and credit card numbers.
According to a statement on the OTTO pizza company’s website, about 900 customers who may have used a credit or debit card at the company’s two Portland locations between May 1 and Aug. 13 are potentially at risk. The stores are located at 225 and 576 Congress Street.
The company said tighter security measures are being taken, such as replacing hard drives on credit card terminals, installing new firewalls and monitoring software.
“We are confident that customers can feel secure when using their credit or debit cards at all of our OTTO locations,” the statement said.
The company is urging customers who discover suspicious transactions on their statements to notify their bank or credit card company.
