BUCKSPORT AND WASHINGTON D.C. – Rick A. Chase, 61, died Monday August 18, 2014 he was born July 19, 1953 in Bangor. He grew up in Bucksport attending schools there. He was a loyal son, a dedicated husband and father who loved his children immensely. Rick was open minded, hardworking and a voice of reason. He was a craftsman who also constructed beautiful local homes. Rick had a clever wit and a willingness to embrace change, progress and new experiences. He loved being at camp, watching the Washington Nationals and listening to Jethro Tull. He was active, outdoorsy and had many adventures in his life. In his wife, Kim, Rick found a perfect life mate, and together they inspired all those around them to strive for love and friendship such as they had with one another. Rick is survived by his wife Kim Day, daughter MacKenzie and three sons; Adam, Sam and Leo, his father Richard O. Chase and Frieda, his mother Barbara Perry and Bob, his siblings Cathy Lee, David Chase and Donna and Greg Doucette, mother in law; Marie Day, sister in law; Laurie and Bruce Gehke, brother in law; Layton and Lorri Day, along with many beloved nieces and nephews, special friends Vicky and Peter Wardwell and his beloved dog Lucy. Rick was predeceased by his step father Leighton Perry, father in law; Roland Day and sister in law Ellen Buzzell-Steele. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday August 24, 2014 at the home of Vicky and Peter Wardwell 133 Cedar Swam Road East Orland.
