ALBANY – Clayton Leroy Hall, 76, died August 7, 2014 at his residence in Albany, GA.
A native of Machias, Maine, Clayton had lived in Albany since 2011. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a construction draftsman and met his dear wife, Merrilyn while stationed at the Marine Corps Base Supply Center in Georgia. After returning to Machias in the early 1960s, Clayton worked a number years for the Civil Service at the Cutler Naval Station. He later returned to school, received a Master’s degree from the University of Maine and began a 20-year career as a teacher in School Union 102. Clayton loved the outdoors, nature and never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife, Merrilyn of Albany, three daughters, Beth Beatty and her husband Robert, Melanie Hall, and Kathleen Richardson and her husband Kristopher, three grandsons, Rob Beatty and his wife Jen, Christopher Beatty and Zachary Beatty, a sister, Ava Hall Larson and her husband Jon, a brother, Duane Hall and his wife Diane, an aunt, Mary Preston and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held at the Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home in Albany. Those wishing to make a charitable donation on his behalf are encouraged to contribute to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Donations can be made by visiting the MDA.org website.
