NEWBURGH, Maine — A local man has been arrested in connection with an Aug. 8 armed robbery at Dysart’s Travel Stop, sheriff’s deputies said Monday.

James Manning, 22, was taken into custody without incident on Friday, Chief Deputy Troy Morton of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said.

Manning was charged with armed robbery and brought to Penobscot County Jail.

The robbery occurred around 10 p.m. Aug. 8 when police say Manning, who acted alone, entered the store on Route 69 with a handgun and demanded cash.

Manning’s bail was set $50,000 and was expected to appear in court later Monday.
