ST. ALBANS – Carl Michael Cummings, 67, died August 16, 2014 at a Bangor hospital following a long illness. He was born August 18, 1946 in Lewiston, a son of Carl V. and Bernice (Scribner) Cummings. He moved to Hartland at age 6, graduating from Hartland Academy, Class of 1965. Carl served with the U. S. Army in Vietnam. He was employed for over 30 years at Irving Tannery in Hartland.
Carl enjoyed hunting and motorcycle riding in his early years. He will be remembered as a skilled carpenter and a lover of music. Although he was a quiet person, he was respected by many in his circle of family, friends and business associates.
In addition to his wife, Judy (McLeod) Cummings, he is survived by a son and his wife, Michael and Veronika Cummings of Cumming, Georgia; 2 brothers Daniel of South Dakota, and Peter of Livermore Falls; a sister Carlene Cran of Waterville; 2 grandchildren, Michael and Preston; and close cousins with whom he was raised, Karla Ricker, Aarne “Mike” and Mark Cummings, and Karen McGibney.
Carl was predeceased by a grand-daughter, Trinity; and his aunt and uncle who raised him, Aarne and Bertha Cummings.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 P.M. Wednesday at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held at 11 A. M. Thursday, August 21st. Burial will be in the Maloon Cemetery, St. Albans.
