BRUNSWICK, Maine — A local man and a 12-year-old girl were both sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the car the man was driving collided with a tree, according to a press release sent out by the Brunswick Police Department.

The crash took place on Lunt Road near mailbox 61 at about 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The 12-year-old passenger had to be extricated from the Subaru station wagon by the Brunswick Fire Department and was transported via LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

The man was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

Lunt Road was closed off for an hour and a half while police investigated the cause of the crash, which is now believed to be driver fatigue.
