BANGOR & HERMON – Eleanor F. McDonald, 90, died Aug. 13, 2014 at a Bangor health care center. She was born Mar. 26, 1924 in Hermon, the daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth (Clark) Light.
Eleanor attended schools in Bangor and Hermon was a graduate of Hermon High School. She married the love of her life, Francis McDonald in 1945 and they lived in Hermon all of their married life. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She always had a smile and a joke to tell. She loved laughter, music, bingo in later years and in her early years, camping, snowmobiling and fun with family and friends. She will be missed by her family and friends at Westgate. Eleanor’s family gratefully thanks the staff of Westgate Manor for the wonderful care and friendships and thanks her dear friend and caregiver Darlene Enman of whom she was very fond.
She is survived by her son Timothy McDonald and his partner, David Rickett of Bangor; his children, Michael McDonald and his wife, Tonya, Chris McDonald and his wife, Auburn, Julie Patterson and her husband, Greg; great grandchildren, Hunter McDonald, Genevieve McDonald and Isabella McDonald. She was predeceased by her husband in 2001, two great grandsons, Levi and Samuel and all her siblings.
A graveside service will be held 11 AM Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hammond St. Ext, Bangor.
