PORTLAND, Maine — A water main break Monday morning on Whaleboat Road attracted the attention of the Portland Water District, but caused little inconvenience for the neighborhood.

Michelle Clements, spokeswoman for the water district, told the Bangor Daily News that eight customers in the area are affected by the break.

Traffic on the residential street was only partially blocked, and Clements said she expects crews to finish their work at the site by 5 p.m.
