ROCKLAND, Maine — Two men are free on bail after being arrested early Saturday, accused of beating a man into unconsciousness.

Ronald Moulton, 48, and Scott Moulton, 28, both of Rockland, each were arrested on a charge of aggravated assault, according to Rockland Deputy Police Chief Wally Tower. The deputy chief said he did not know the relationship of the two men.

The victim was a 29-year-old man — whose name is not being released. The incident occurred shortly after midnight when an altercation began inside the Time Out Pub, Tower said. The three men were thrown out of the Time Out and the confrontation continued.

At one point, the Moultons were kicking the victim in the head as he was on the ground, according to Tower.

They were arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail where they were both released on $1,000 cash bail.

The victim was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport. His condition was not immediately available but Tower said the man had regained consciousness.
