BAR HARBOR, Maine — A local man faces a child pornography charge after he was arrested at the Jackson Lab last week, police said Monday.
Randal Babiuk, whose age was not available, was taken into custody without incident, according to State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland.
Babiuk works at the Jackson Lab. McCausland said there is no indication computers at the lab were involved in the crime.
Police seized Babiuk’s personal computer and hundreds of images of children were found, although none are believed to be from Maine.
Babiuk was charged with possessing sexually explicit material of someone under age 12 and taken to Hancock County Jail.
