BAR HARBOR, Maine — Rangers came to the aid of a man who fell and was injured in Acadia National Park on Saturday.
The man, described as being in his 40s, was hiking with his family on the Ocean Path near Thunder Hole when he slipped on wet rocks and fell about 11:47 a.m., reported Ranger Adam Dermish.
Rangers responded along with Mount Desert Island Search and Rescue and the Bar Harbor Fire Department. A team of eight responders carried the man in a litter about one-quarter of a mile to Park Loop Road, reaching an ambulance about 12:30, said Dermish.
The fire department took him to Mount Desert Island Hospital, said Dermish, who declined to describe the man’s injuries.
