ROCKLAND, Maine — A 27-year-old Camden man is being held without bail after police said he exposed himself in front of several female inmates at the Knox County Jail.
Addam L. Sheets was convicted in December on one count of both unlawful sexual contact and sexual abuse of a minor for offenses against a 15-year-old girl in Camden in March 2013.
He was sentenced to three years in jail with all but nine months suspended to be followed by two years of probation.
He served that sentence but was brought back to jail last month after being accused of violating his probation by a failing to notify law enforcement officials about a change of address, as is required of him as a registered sex offender.
While he was in jail this time, jail staff began receiving reports from female inmates that Sheets was exposing his genitals to them. As a result, he was charged with another probation violation this week.
Sheets denied the latest probation violation charge when he appeared in in Rockland District Court on Friday afternoon.
Judge Patricia Worth ordered Sheets to remain in jail.
