By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

GRAY, Maine — With more thunderstorms expected throughout Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Oxford and Franklin counties.

The flood advisory is slated to affect eastern Oxford and southern Franklin counties, the weather service said.

Rainfall rates at over an inch an hour have been estimated with thunderstorms in the area. Rapid rises on creeks and streams and runoff onto roads are possible.

Areas with previous flood damage are also susceptible to additional flooding, according to the weather service.

In addition to the flood advisory, the weather service has also issued severe thunderstorm warnings for central York and southern Cumberland counties.
