RoseAnn Ruel

HAMLIN, ME AND PLAINVILLE, CT – RoseAnn Ruel, 71, died peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at a Portland hospital. She was born December 5, 1942 in St. Francis, Maine, a daughter of the late Albert and Irene (Michaud) Cyr.
She relocated to Connecticut, working many years in the machine and electrical shops in Bristol, CT. She worked with former Bussman and Rowley Spring. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and many visits to the Connecticut casinos with her husband. After her retirement in 2004, her and her husband returned to Hamlin, Maine, where she enjoyed many visits to Canada and visiting family in Connecticut. She was a member of the Columbiettes and member and former recording secretary of the Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by: her husband of 52 years, Robert A. Ruel of Hamlin, ME, formerly of Plainville, CT; three children, Roberta A. Evans and her husband, Brian of New Britain, CT, Patrick G. Ruel of New Britain, CT, and Michael J. Ruel and his wife, Maria of Newington, CT; four brothers, James Cyr and his wife, Gladys of Windsor, CT, Gene Cyr of Casper, WY, Bertrand Cyr of Terryville, CT and Roland Cyr and his wife, Mae of Southington, CT; seven grandchildren, Stacie, Stephen, Jonathan, Zachary, Eric, Adam & Christopher; two great-grandchildren, Jacob & Jonah; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, RoseAnn is predeceased by her sister, Patricia Beaulieu and two brothers, Michael and Ervin Cyr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Main St., Van Buren, ME. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Saturday morning, 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be private at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren, ME.
