Police investigating Camden home invasion

By Beth Brogan, BDN Staff

CAMDEN, Maine — A group of tourists renting a house on Maple Street woke up Sunday morning to find a man had broken into the house and was still there.

Camden police responded to the call just after 6 a.m. Sunday to find the intruder had already fled, according to Officer Allen Weaver.

Camden and Rockport police, along with a tracking dog from the Maine State Police, searched the area until about 7:30 a.m., Weaver said, but were unsuccessful.

He said no suspects have been identified and declined to release any potential motive. No one was injured, and nothing was apparently taken from the home.

The investigation is ongoing.
