BANGOR, Maine — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for a tiny region of Somerset and Franklin counties as slow-moving thunderstorms roll through the area Saturday evening.

The warning affects “extreme west central Somerset County and northwestern Franklin County,” according to the weather service, which expects the warning to expire around 6:45 p.m.

Between 2 and 3 inches of rain has fallen in some areas and more is expected.

Western Maine and northern New Hampshire also are under a hazardous weather outlook for Saturday night, with isolated strong thunderstorms and heavy downpours possible.
