NAPLES, Maine — A local teen has a great story to share, after he survived being struck by lightning Monday.

The lightning came from the same storm Monday afternoon that brought a tornado to Limington.

Sean Greeley, 16, said he sat down at a picnic table for a snack as storms rolled overhead Monday around lunchtime. That’s when he saw a bright flash and heard a loud boom.

“And then all of a sudden, I felt like the vibration go from head to toe,” Greeley said.

Greeley rushed to the hospital where, coincidentally, his dad, Bob, already was.

Greeley speculates the lightning first hit a nearby tree and he felt the shock through the ground, which could be what saved his life.

Apart from some redness around his face and neck, Greeley was said to be fine.
