PHYLLIS “JEANNIE” (Dow) HARRIS

ENFIELD – Jeannie Harris died July 30, 2014 at home. Born in Millinocket, she was the daughter of Robert Dow, Sr. and Pauline (Lee) Sullivan.

She lived in Connecticut, working at the Masonic Hospital, Stanley Judds and Cumberland Farms. After moving back to Maine, she worked at Kagan Lown, Spearin’s Diner and Cummings Health Care. She finished her career as a cashier and waitress at the 95er. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary # 9429 in West Enfield and the American Legion Auxiliary #97 in Howland. She loved her family and enjoyed people, playing bingo, crocheting and knitting.

She was predeceased by her husband, Larry D. Harris, Sr. She is survived by her close companion, Edward Gillmor, her sons, Larry and Lori and Richard and Kelly, her grandsons, Jason and Laura, Bradley and Heidi, and Brian and Stacey and her great-grandsons, Adrian and Jackson. Her siblings are Ella Dow, Virginia Culver, Madeline Spencer, Robert and Gloria Dow and Henry and Joanne Dow. She also leaves a special niece, Debbie and Mert Bagley, as well as dear friends, Deloris Eastman and Tommy and Joanne Saucier. She was predeceased by a brother, Lloyd Dow.

Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Cheryl Stratton officiating. Interment will be in West Enfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Cancer Care of Maine.
