National Weather Service issues severe thunderstorm watch for parts of Maine

GRAY, Maine — Severe weather is expected through the rest of the afternoon Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Severe thunderstorm watches are in effect until 8 p.m. for Androscoggin, Cumberland, Franklin, Oxford and York counties, according to the weather service.

Showers and storms are expected throughout the state for the remainder of the day.
