40 displaced after apartment fire in Lewiston

By WGME Staff, Special to the BDN

LEWISTON, Maine — A Thursday night fire burned an apartment building and displaced 40 people, according to the Lewiston Police Department.

The fire broke out at an apartment complex on Blake Street, the same neighborhood as multiple fires that destroyed several apartment buildings last year. Those fires are believed to have been intentionally set.

However, police do not consider Thursday’s fire to be suspicious.

The Red Cross is helping the families who were displaced.
