WYTOPITLOCK – Blaine J. “Buck” Irish, 62, husband of Nyoka (Hoyt) Irish, passed away July 23, 2014, at his home, with his family by his side. He was born Jan. 27, 1952, at home in Bancroft, the son of Blaine J. Irish and Mary (Golding) Irish.
Buck grew up in Bancroft and made his home in Wytopitlock. He loved gardening, 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing and building furniture and teasing everyone he knew. He was Reed Plantation Fire Chief for 32 years. He also served as town warden. He was a member of Wytopitlock Fish and Game Club, Masonic Lodge #17 in Danforth and Anah Temple Shrine, Bangor.
In addition to his loving wife of 42 years, Nyoka Irish, he is survived by two beautiful daughters, Laurie Linscott and her boyfriend, Scott Nutter of Brewer, and his children, Lindsay, Josh and Justin; and Jennifer Irish Messervey and her husband, Allen, of Hermon; a special niece, Michelle Russell Lang; two precious grandchildren, Lauren Linscott and Connor Messervey; three brothers, Randy Irish and Lynn, Bradford Irish and Ammie and Kempton Irish and Lori; two sisters, Lynda Irish and Ellen Mitchell and Dicky; mother-in-law, Clara Russell; special friends, Cheryl and David Russell; several nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, cousins, and Carmel, his cat. He was predeceased by his father, Blaine Irish; and his father-in-law, Ross Russell.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Rd., Danforth, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Steve Waite and Cheryl Russell officiating. Interment will be in Wytopitlock Cemetery. There will be a gathering at the Reed Plt. Fire Dept. after the burial.
