NEWPORT, Maine — A local woman was arrested on Monday afternoon after police had received numerous complaints of alleged drug activity occurring at her Highland Avenue home.

Amy Boudreau, 40, was taken into custody without incident, according to Newport Police Chief Leonard Macdaid.

Macdaid said police had been receiving calls for weeks regarding suspected drug activity at the residence, and Lt. Randy Wing launched an investigation.

The chief added Boudreau has previous drug charges on her rap sheet.

When police searched the house, drug paraphernalia, including baggies, hypodermic needles and more than one spoon with residue on it, was found, according to Macdaid.

“It’s a quiet neighborhood and we were happy to clean [that house] up,” Macdaid said.

Boudreau was charged with violating bail conditions, although further charges are likely once the investigation concludes, Macdaid said.

Boudreau was brought to the Penobscot County Jail following her arrest.
