CORINNA – Dana I. Doherty, 79, died unexpectedly July 16, 2014 in Corinna. He was born in St. Albans, the youngest child of Bert and Fern (Whittaker) Doherty, Sr.
Dana graduated from Corinna Union Academy in 1953 and joined the U. S. Air Force. While stationed in Japan, he met his bride, Kiyoko Hanazawa, and they were married July 23, 1957. Dana was a Master oil burner technician by trade.
He is survived by his wife, Ki; 2 daughters and their husbands, Julie and Alan Clark, and Denise and Jeffrey Dickson, and a son, Christopher Doherty. He was known affectionately as “Pup” by his grandchildren, Kenneth and wife, Crystal Clark, Cody and Makayla Doherty; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Clark, Amelia Ludden, and Sydney Clark. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Beulah Knowles, Lionel Doherty, Constance Doherty, Bert Doherty, Jr., Doreen Clark and Clara Stevens.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 25th at the Corinna Center Cemetery, Corinna. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, Corinna. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Corinna Firefighters Association, or the Stewart Free Library, both at 8 Levi Stewart Drive, Corinna, ME 04928.
