AUGUSTA, Maine — A Brooklyn, New York man was arrested Wednesday morning in connection with a purse theft at the Augusta Wal Mart, police said.
Officers stopped a taxi containing William Seabron, 23, on Pet Haven Lane around 11 a.m., Augusta Deputy Police Chief Jared Mills said.
Police had been looking for Seabron in connection with a purse theft that occurred on July 1, according to Mills.
Seabron was taken into custody without incident and charged with robbery, the deputy chief said.
Seabron was also charged with theft, seven counts of misuse of credit identification, unlawful trafficking in marijuana and unlawful possession of schedule W drugs and taken to the Kennebec County Jail.
Mills said a woman, 37-year old Audra Purington, is wanted in connection with the investigation, and anyone with information on her whereabouts should call Augusta police Det. Christopher Blodgett at 626-2370, ext. 3422.
