BANGOR – Terrance K. Fournier, 52, died Tuesday July 15, 2014 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Terry was born April 9, 1962, in Grosse PT., Mich., the son of Terrance R. Fournier and Nancy (Boyle) Cooper.
He grew up in Shelby Township, Michigan, and graduated from Western Michigan University and Wayne St. University School of Medicine. He served in the U.S. Navy as a general surgeon and was honorably discharged achieving the rank of Lt. Commander. During that time he was stationed in Okinawa, SanDiego, and served aboard the U.S.S. Constellation. Terry practiced for many years as a Vascular surgeon for Eastern Maine Medical Center. He loved his weekends at camp on Moosehead Lake in Beaver Cove, as well as boating, relaxing on his hammock, snowmobiling, ice fishing and skiing. Terry was also an avid Detroit Red Wings fan. He was a wonderful, son, father, husband, brother, and papa.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, and a nephew Wesley Barocio. He leaves behind his mother, Nancy Cooper and her husband, Tom of Clinton Township, Mich., his loving wife, Joann, two sons, Alex and his wife, Krista, and Andrew, a granddaughter, Lux Fournier, all of Bangor, three sisters, Darlene Danbacher and her husband, Ken of Yale, Mich., Susan Cera and her husband, Tony of Sterling Heights, Mich., Jeanne Fournier and her wife, Tracy Jesernig of Belleville, Mich., as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Friends may call at 12 noon Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Gardiner officiating. Military honors will be held following the service at the funeral home. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the service.
