ST. ALBANS AND BELLOWS FALLS, VT – Frances passed away July 12, 2014. She was born in Soldier Pond, Maine on July 18, 1943 to the late Jose` and Lea Dubois Desjardins. Frances lived in Bellows Falls, VT and later with her daughter, Teeka Sears and family in Milton, VT. Teeka and husband Jeff and children, Merissa and Trevor faithfully devoted the last two and a half years to Frances.
Teeka patiently and lovingly remained at her mother’s side throughout the entire illness. (Frances would be so proud!)
Frances could make any place into a beautifully decorated home with her artistic talents. She loved flowers and birds and just life itself. She loved country music and she loved to dance. She loved to collect antiques and shop at Mr. G’s. She had a special knack for finding just the right thing for the right place. She loved company and one always felt welcomed at her beautiful home in Bellows Falls with her loving husband, Richard. She loved to come “home” every summer, especially on the 4th of July and all the family looked forward to their visit and her laughter that filled the room. She delighted in stealing the fudge her sister, Joyce made for James. Her shriek of success let everyone know that she and her posse of nieces had found the cache.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Teeka Pinette Sears and husband, Jeff, and children, Merissa and Trevor; her son, Lee Pinette and wife, Valerie, and children, Olive and Lilly; her son, Jay Pinette and his son, Justin; her sister, Joyce and husband, Pierre “June” Charette and family of Presque Isle; her sister, Ida Jean and husband, Herbert Doustou and family of Plainfield, CT; her brother, James Desjardins and wife, Elaine and family of Soldier Pond; special friend, Richard Gay of Bellows Falls, VT; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Fran’s wishes were always to come back “home.”
Services will be held at the Sacred Heart Church in Soldier Pond, 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2014. Burial will follow the services in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at her assisted-living apartment at the Pillsbury Homestead in St. Albans, VT where Fran resided the last year. They also wish to thank the Hospice team for such understanding and care. In Fran’s memory one may plant a flower or tree for someone or buy a knick-knack or antique and remember her for it or donate to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or local Hospice groups.
