ELIZABETH BEARCE TRAFTON

CORINNA AND SKOWHEGAN – Elizabeth “Betty” Bearce Trafton, 86, passed away July 13, 2014. She was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Parkman, a daughter of Virgil and Cora (Hayden) Race.

She married John C. Bearce, Sr. on January 13, 1945 and together they raised a family of 8 children. Betty worked alongside her husband in their antique and auction business for many years. Later she was employed at Fernald’s Market in Corinna and Bud’s Shop N Save in Pittsfield, where she received a “Cashier of the Year” award. Upon retiring, she enjoyed travel and crafting with her second husband Edmund Trafton.

She is survived by her 8 children, George Bearce and friend, Linda of Meredith, NH, Evelyn Robinson and husband, Micheal of Charleston, Linda Leavitt and husband, Nolan of New Albany, IN, John C. Bearce, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Shallotte, NC, Cindy Emery of Pittsfield, Camellia Neal and husband, Johnnie of Hartland, Cecelia Mayhew and husband, Robert of Skowhegan, Imogene Aldrich and husband, Dennis of Norridgewock; and her seventy grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, John of 41 years and her second husband, Edmund of 22 years.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22nd at the Higgins Cemetery in Corinna with the Rev. Nolan Leavitt officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, Corinna. Those who wish may leave written tributes at www.CrosbyNeal.com
