ISLAND FALLS – Doris “Bunny” York, 83, passed away July 13, 2014 at a local hospital. She was born Nov. 17, 1930 at Crystal, the daughter of Ray and Iva (Desmond) Prescott.
Bunny was a homemaker and held jobs as a town clerk, waitress and did many different tasks for Katahdin Trust Company at their branches in Island Falls, Patten, Oakfield and Houlton.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Corey, Lynne Ryan and her husband, Dana; two sons, Thomas York, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne, John York and his wife, Cindy; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verna MacArthur and Hilda Clukey and her husband Albert; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Prescott and Susan Prescott; one brother-in-law, Robert Mayer; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Thomas O. York, Sr., a son, David and grandchildren, Mark and Butch Williams, siblings, Marion Sewell, Dot Porter, Vivian Porter, Jane Anderson, Rita MacArthur, Hazel Stillings, Patricia Mayer, Kenneth Prescott, Raymond Prescott and Ronald Prescott.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Island Falls, with Rev. David Raymond celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Agnes Cemetery.
