SKOWHEGAN – Linwood C. Willey of Skowhegan died in Bangor, July 7, 2014 at the age of 54. Linwood passed from this world at a Bangor hospital, as the result of complications from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. Linwood was born on April 22, 1960 to R. B. (Bill) Willey and June Willey in Skowhegan.
He graduated from Skowhegan High School. Lin put his life on hold to care for his parents for many years. This started his love of health care, which took him to the ambulance care field as a certified Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic. He worked at Clinton Fire Department, Delta Ambulance, Corinna Fire Department, and Reddington-Fairfield for a short time. He was currently employed by Mayo Regional Hospital EMS in Dover-Foxcroft and Dexter.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Everett Willey and Roger Willey, sisters, Joanne Willey and Juanita Willey. He is survived by his very special friend of many years, Gloria DiSalvatore of Fairfield; brother, Robert Willey, Sr. and his wife, Carolyn of East Machias, and sister, Sue Jean Willey of Skowhegan, and Frankie (his parent’s poodle). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Mandy, Annette, Timothy, Robert Jr., and Jason. There are also many great nieces and nephews, and last but far from least, his brothers and sisters from the Mayo Regional Hospital Ambulance Service. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and if love is all you take with you from this world to the next, he entered there a wealthy man. He leaves many friends behind.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. July 17th at the Dexter Ambulance Base; 238 Spring St. Dexter.
