Earl F. Spinney, Sr.

BREWER – Earl F. Spinney, Sr., 79, husband of Anne (Tozier) Spinney, died July 10, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born Apr. 27, 1935 in Bradley, the son of George and Rosella (Thibodeau) Spinney.
Earl was a graduate of John Bapst High School where he played baseball and was an exceptional pitcher and he was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Earl worked as a paper maker at the mill in Old Town for many years through the different companies transitions until being injured in the early 80’s. He met Anne in 1984 and they were married in 1987. Earl was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War, Post # 3381 Old Town and the Old Town American Legion. While living in Brewer, he attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Earl was predeceased by his first wife, Martina Spinney. Surviving in addition to his wife, Anne of Brewer are six children, Theresa O’Keefe and her husband, Brent of Milford, Earl Spinney, Jr and Joseph Spinney both of Bangor;, Frank Spinney of Orono, Tammy Van Riper and her husband, Bob of Mansfield, OH and Tina Ashey of Brewer; three stepchildren, Sherry Baer and Jerry of Orange City, FL, Lori Gerulis and her husband, John of Bradford and Bruce Fletcher and his wife, Gayle of Glenburn; 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 1 step great grandchildren; several half siblings including Jeannine Debaradinis with whom he remained close; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may visit 2 -4 and 6 – 8 PM Monday at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, No. Main St., Brewer. Burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town.
