FORT KENT – Peter Nesbitt, 79, died unexpectedly July 9, 2014, at his home in Fort Kent. He was born July 8, 1935, in Edmundston, N.B. Canada the son of Earle and Helen (Stevens) Nesbitt.
Peter worked at Fraser Paper for over 30 years. He was an active member in the Masonic Lodge # 0209 in Fort Kent through out his life having been raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason May 27, 1970 and remained active in the mason’s, including a long standing position in the office as secretary and also held the office of Worshipful Master. He was also a member of the Anah Shriners of Bangor. Peter enjoyed spending time at his family cottage in Baker Lake. N.B.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ruth (Thibodeau) Nesbitt of Fort Kent; one daughter, Darla Nesbitt and companion, Helen Gunn of Fort Kent; one son, James Nesbitt of San Francisco, Cal., four nephews, Gregory, David, Douglas, and Gordon Nesbitt. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, an infant brother, Jack, and James Nesbitt.
Visiting hours will be held 1:30-3:30 p.m. Monday, July 14, at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent, where Masonic Memorial services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. by the Fort Kent officers and members of Fort Kent Lodge #0209 A.F & A.M., followed by funeral services at 4 p.m. with Rev. James Nadeau officiating. Committal services will follow in the St. Louis Catholic cemetery.
