BOSTON — Baseball fans will get a double dose of the game when the ninth annual Futures at Fenway holds a minor league game followed by a classic sports movie, “Field of Dreams,” at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Fenway Park.
The Futures event is held to celebrate America’s pastime and to give Red Sox fans a look at some of the franchise’s promising young prospects from its Single-A affiliate, the Lowell Spinners, which will take on the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, a Cleveland Indians affiliate.
Thirty minutes after the game, fans can watch the movie, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary and features memorable scenes at Fenway Park with co-stars Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones.
The Futures event also features “Bark at the Park,” as fans are invited to bring their dogs to the park and participate in canine-themed activities.
Those bringing dogs must enter at Gate E, while other fans may enter at all other gates, which open at 2 p.m. Admission is $15 for the game and movie and $20 for those bringing dogs.
